#1. The Mind’s Assembly Line: "Thinking" as a commodity

1 min read

2025 is the trailer for the Industrial Revolution of the mind, marking the moment where cognitive output is finally decoupled from human time. Just as the steam engine mechanized muscle, AI is mechanizing thought, turning "thinking" into a cheap, abundant commodity.

This happened during the Industrial Revolution

Before steam power, production was limited by human muscle and stamina. The introduction of the steam engine decoupled output from biological limits, creating machines that could run 24/7 and forcing workers to adapt their natural rhythms to the machine’s relentless, non-stop pace.

This happens now

Today, we are witnessing the decoupling of "thought" from "time." A 2024 Harvard Business School study found that consultants using AI completed cognitive tasks 25.1% faster with 40% higher quality results, effectively shattering the "time-to-quality" ratio that previously defined human labor. This is why this is important

This signals the rapid devaluation of raw human "effort." Just as a hand-woven shirt became economically worthless against a factory shirt, "hand-crafted" emails or basic code are losing their inherent value in an era of content inflation, where the sheer volume of automated output makes the individual unit of human work economically negligible.
